It looks like tomorrow is going to be a happy day for all N97 users. It was reported by nokiaconv that v11.x.021 firmware will be released sometime tomorrow (July 1st). Although it’s not clear which country will get it first and whether it is going to be over the air (OTA) update. The ways to find out is to check your Nokia Software Updater (NSU) or hit the software update icon on your phone throughout the day.
This firmware is purely for bug fixes. Skype will have to wait, hopefully soon. This firmware should improve the N97 significantly from the installed version but it is still far from stable. However, it’s great to see that Nokia is releasing one so soon if they do release one tomorrow. Read more…
I’ve been using the Nokia N97 for over a week now and I found a couple useful small features or functions that I thought was worth mentioning. This quick video will probably benefit new S60 users the most, but old S60 users might gain something as well. Yesterday, I received my N97 screen protector from Clarivue.com. Although it took almost a week to get it, they were one of the few online stores that have them in stock. I’ve used Clarivue before for my digital camera but not for a phone. I usually would prefer buying from BestSkinEver or Zagg (invisibleSHIELD), but they didn’t have it yet.
Here is an overview video of the N97 available settings. I’m sure there are a lot more settings than the ones I’ve mentioned but these are the major ones. I thought that someone might be interested to see how customize the N97 can be and all the settings that are available. It’s nice to be able to customize almost everything on this phone to suit your need.
